APEXi NEO SAFC - How does it work??
Questions for those have installed this.
I have a custom boomslang for this so its all PNP...collecting dust in my garage.
My questions is if I install a custom intake pipe on my car (3.5") and plug this NEO up what needs to be done. I have never installed or used one before. Does the car need to be tuned or with it have modes to adjust that I could do with the car not on a dyno
I would think I need someone to custom tune the car but I get different stories from each shop I talk to and some say its garbage and others say its just fine. I only have a custom exhaust and then the intake so I dont pull a CEL. I basically want to run a pipe similar to the SRT but just a custom pipe so the car will suck more air then my OEM pipe.
Any ideas please post away.
Thank you

Here is what I found... looks like you will need a good tuner to get you the best air fuel ratio.. cause I hear if you run lean its catastrophic...
From SpeedStash...
Piggyback Fuel Computer.
Characteristics
Modifies air-flow meter signal (pressure signal in some vehicles) to optimize fuel-air ratio; Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD).
Comments
The second-generation S-AFC is a fuel computer that adjusts fuel/air ratio by modifying the air-flow meter/MAP sensor signal. The S-AFC features a user-definable, eight-point, adjustable fuel curve that can be set in 500 RPM increments. The range of fuel adjustment is +/- 50% at each of the user-defined setting points. On hot-wire vehicles, the Deceleration Air Flow Correction function is capable of curing the erratic idle and stall problems associated with open-atmosphere blow-off valves on hot-wire air-flow meter systems. The S-AFC is capable of monitoring and replaying the following data channels in Numerical, Analog Meter and Graph displays: Intake Manifold Vacuum/Boost Pressure, Air Flow Capacity, Intake Manifold Pressure, Karmann Frequency, Engine RPM, Throttle Position, and Air Flow Correction %.
Due to the complexity of this product, A'PEX recommends having the S-AFC and other A'PEX electronics installed and tuned by authorized A'PEX Power Excel Shops.

^ Thanks. My only fear is this car being to hard to tune and I was "told" I may still get a CEL even if its tuned correct? Is that true?? The 3gen is VERY sensitive to mods I have learned already testing the waters. But I am sure the 2gen was that way also once everyone started but found ways to get around.
I may talk to my shop and see what they want to make a custom pipe since the SRT was slightly off on the 3gen for clearance. Cant be that hard to make with a few pipes welded together and powder coated.

^ thank you. I think I am going to hit up a few people to see if they can do this and have a custom pipe made for the car and just wait to boost it.
What are people getting for MPG with an SRT or similar pipe with a tune? I avg a whopping 18 MPG unless I am on the expressway so just curios if it will get worse then it already is. I am not worried at all just more curious to see how the car responds to this mod.

Since you are in the windy city, I would hit up the good ole folks over at Sound performance. That old fart larry does some amazing tunning and fabrication I heard.
There single turbo kit for my supra brings a
to my face everytime I get on it.

^ I left them a few messages and didnt hear back. Figured the same since they specialize in the Supra but my car is a pretty different animal. Maybe I will just drive over and talk to them. We have 2 locals that have some nicely done up Supra's that are just insane. I have to bring an extra pair of shorts
