possible shifting issue on is250? not sure.
I was wondering if anyone could let me know if this seems a bit weird. I have s 2006 IS250. Recently, i've noticed that when i'm driving, the automatic shifting seems very aggressive.. Let me explain:
When go from stop, it seems to shift quickly.. Heres what i've observed:
0-10 first gear
10-15 second
15-20 third
20-25 forth
25-30 fifth
35- sixth
so by the time i'm at 40 mph, im in 6th gear.. I'm accelerating gently like from a stop light..
what worries me is that at 35, if i need to increase speed, it seems the engine is working harder.. If i do press much harder, yes, the gear drops lower and i go.. but there is a period of a 1 sec or 2 seconds before that happens.. if i need to accel quickly to get out of the way, it could be a problem.
Also, i've noticed that when i slow down, it seems to skip 3rd gear..
so the speed will be dropping a steady rate, and when i hit about 25, it drops to 4, then when i hit 20 it goes to 2, skipping 3 altogether..
I'm pretty sure this is a new thing i'm seeing here as i would have noticed this earlier.. The only thing that was done recently was the 3 lexus recalls but i dont believe that had anything to do with this.
Do you think this is something i should be concerned about? I spoke to a few buddies of mine that also have IS and they do not have the same symptoms and suggested i post on this forum to see if its something serious.
2006 IS250, miles : 22k
no aftermarket mods
thanks in advance..

... the ECU needs to "learn" your driving style.
