Default Which Intake Should I Buy And Why?

I have an IS250 AWD and really like the look and sound of the Injen Short Ram. I just want to hear everyone's opinions and some good info.

I got a used fujita and couldn't be happier. It sounds great and was inexpensive.

From a performance and cost perspective nothing beats the Joe Z pipe (with reusable drop in filter).

(Or, if you need to pass CA emissions, the F-sport intake).

Anything else will be more money for equal or less performance.

From a sound perspective it'll be entirely subjective so I'm not sure how much value how something sounds to other people will help you.

you cant go wrong, depending on what you want.

Fsport: some sound, some gains, most expensive but doesnt void warranty, etc
JoeZ: same as Fsport but w/o sound and good gains, much cheaper.
all other intakes: from what ive heard, little to no gains, but make a lot of noise and great sound. they are not expensive either

again it depends on what you want.

I agree...it's all in what you are looking for. The F-Sport won't void your warranty but costs more. Since your from NY, don't know if you have strict emissions....that could be a concern, just keep your OEM airbox so can swap it out if you decide to go with K&N, Injen or Joe Z if you need to pass inspection.

I have an Injen intake and love it. I love the sound and there is some gains. Injen claims the gain to be up to 19 hp, but I don't feel that much gain. I've never dynoed it since installing it, so I wouldn't really know how much I gained with it. Nevertheless, I love the sound and the mild gains I get from this intake.

Injen lies. (not uncommon among people selling performance parts)

The Joe Z/F-sport intakes add 5 hp.

No other intake adds more (and some might add less).

go Injen if you want sound
if you want little performance, then go with F-sport
but trust me, those little gains are something that you won't really notice
so most people here usually go for the sound

^^ Same applies to CA or any other State...

Have the stock intake pipe or box ready the day of your inspection.
Just in case they notice a different intake pipe in there..

Default They all pretty much suck...

I'd buy the one that sucks the most. Unfortunately, they pretty much all suck the same. So, if I wanted a quality product at a good price, I'd get the JoeZ. If I had to pass CA emissions, I'd get the F-Sport.

Everyone's pretty much right about the K&N, Injen or Joe Z etc... Joe Z is cheapest and F-Sport has a warranty. Personally for me, I got the F-Sport Intake for obvious reasons (California), and I love it. It has a very throaty sound to it once you hit about 3200rpm. Its a little expensive (Around $300), but I was able to get mine with the MSN live cashback system which gave me $90 back. So basically I got it for $210 which isn't that bad. Hope this helps you in your quest for an intake!
