What problems if any, would you be facing with a Weapon R intake? More air to the engine without a piggyback ecu to add more fuel. Would the engine run lean w/o the ecu?

Kajukenbo desigtned and built them, but I'm not sure if he has any left (I believe TomTNC may have bought the last one). PM Kajukenbo to find out if he still has any.

Some members have mentioned that the SRT intake adversely affects bottom end..... (I think it was mumbles that said this at the Deals gap meet 3 weeks ago)

Now if in fact it does this, why would anyone want to install this mod other than the 'cosmetic' noise factor?

I've had both...My additional advice...

Stay away from any piggyback ECU. Until someone cracks the stock ECU codes, you will either have problems or have very little performance gains.

If just the intake hardware alone, any choice is going to give about ~5HP difference - which is more show than go...other points:

1) WR sells intake alone...
2) SRT does not...

Best mod: Engine Pulleys!!!

I have heard lots of ppl saying contrary. Now srt claims 30hp boost...but that is a little high. I was told that it actually puts out 20hp. Have you actually used the SRT Intake w/piggy back? Have you dyno'd it?

There was a dyno performed a while back comparing the SRT to the WR to the Injen. I think you can search for it in the arcives.

Also, find concrete owners that have dyno'd the SRT and see if they can confirm the 30HP or even 20HP claim - that's your best bet to find answers. Personally, I think the stock ECU is one the most challenging things to mod on the car without having direct access to the software from Toyota.

JUst as a note to others, I have ran into detonation problems on the dyno when testing different intakes on Toyotas. Their ECU's are so close to perfect and for some reason the ECU ignores the knock sensor at full throttle. In fact on my bone stock GS400 if I take even 1 unit of fuel out with my S-AFC II, it knocks like crazy. Best to make sure to tune the fuel curve after installing intake. In fact I wil not install an intake by itself on a Lexus/non-turbo Toyota even though I would make money on it because it is simply dangerous. YOu guys can do what you want but I'm not putting in my RMM/Blitz intake until I have time to tune it.
