Default Freed up about 2 more hp

After wanting to do this for the longest I finally had it done. I finally got the resonators removed today. Let me just start off by saying I definitely recommend this mod especially if you have an aftermarket exhaust. The sound is amazing. It definitely has a deeper, throatier sound. You can feel more rumble in the cabin as well. The car feels like it's breathing better although I don't know how restrictive the resonators are. Definitely a must. I will try to post some sound clips up.

I'm still wondering if I want my GS to rumble or not...

I also still haven't slapped on my HKS exhaust yet...

wouldn't i lose more HP because of back pressure loss?

No HP loss, maybe a couple TQ lost, though.

I did an axleback delete, myself and get a nice rumble (Unfortunately it translates as drone into the cabin, LOL)

I may look into ripping out the reso's.

Sweet. I was looking at that exhaust before I got my Borla. Price was the deciding factor for me. I have the front res removed and it has a nice growl when u get on it but is pretty quiet at highway speeds. I thought about removing the two rear resonators but im afraid it might drone on the highway. Do you get any drone?

Resonators don't restrict exhaust flow. They quiet down the exhaust noise, by 'redirecting' soundwaves to flow back onto each other, cancelling out the noise. They aren't mufflers, which actually have flow chambers to create more back pressure (restriction) as well as quiet the exhuast.

The stock piping is REALLY quiet. I took off my mufflers, and just put turn-downs on the ends. It's a quiet rumble at idle, throaty when accellerating, not bad on the highway/at speed limit. Sounds good too!

You're definitely going to get more sound in the cabin, since the resonators are located right below the seats. One girl that rode in my car said it was hurting her ears, but she's the only person that's complained so far. I love it though.

Thanks for the info. I might get rid of my resonators soon also.
