Default Cam Gears and Pulleys

Ok, first off what cam gear do you guys recommend? Ive been told unorthodox, but i was looking at AEM or HKS. What do you guys think? and also, I was thinking about getting a pully set, but I read somewhere that if you have FI its bad for your engine? anyone know about that?
Thanks

if you're gonna get pulleys just get lightweight pulleys, don't get underdrive. All underdrive does is reduce the speed that your accessories spin at to reduce parasitic drag on the crank through the serpentine system, thus giving you a couple extra ponies. I dont trust it because that means your water pump, a/c compressor, alternator, and all that stuff isn't making the output it should. However, lightened pulleys will reduce the drag but not underdrive all your accessories, so you get the best of both worlds.

as far as cam gear, I would go HKS, a lot of guys here and on the supras have had excellent luck with them. If you cant get your hands on that, I'm pretty sure unorthodox is decent quality stuff. AEM will do the trick but personally i'd rather stick to AEM for what theyre known for, intakes and electronics.

Cam gear is what is going to make a noticeable difference, you will get gains all across the RPM range if it is tuned correctly. I wouldn't bother with the pullies, you won't make noticeable gains from what I've read. Good luck.

personally i'd avoid OBX, i mean you get what you pay for. And especially on such a critical part (that thing fails your VVTi and valvetrain as a whole will get effed up)

stay away from OBX. I haven't used them personally but I would rather spend that extra buck and get AEM or HKS.

Nah that was only at 15psi(~approx 400whp) on the small turbo lol. The car was waaay slow back then. 33psi on a 67mm turbo makes girls scream, and very soon to be 35psi on a 74mm turbo

Yes you're right. The pullies I have for sale are for the 2JZ. The power steering and alternator pulley will work on the 2jz-ge, but the water pump pulley is specific to the GTE.

The last video was on the small 62-1 turbo. I've since upgraded turbos twice, but haven't gone back to the track yet. I want to but there's no tracks open during the winter. Hopefully I'll be able to make a good pass once the tracks open back up in the spring. My goal is to hit 10's with the new HKS turbo. I'll be sure to post up proof here when I achieve that goal
