Default O2 sensor, how did you remove it?

hey guys, I'm trying to install the Megan Midpipe right now
and I'm having some problems with removing the O2 Sensor

some member stated that they used the Standard O2 Socket to remove,
but what is that? where can I get it??

is there a way for me to take it off without that socket??

there is a metal cover that surrounds the sensor so
I was wondering if I can remove the metal cover first..

and if I can,,,then how can I take off the sensor?

please let me know...ASAP

thanks

nope, you have to get a toyota o2 sensor socket, a standard one would do just make sure it is a really short one.

I know that it is after the fact but......

1 - Obviously you need an O2 socket from AutoZone, Toyota etc...
2 - Spray some WD-40 on the threads to make removal much easier. The threads tend to bind otherwise.
3 - Upon reinstalling, turn the O2 sensor about 4 full turns counterclockwise. This will make the wire harness tight but it will unravel as the sensor in installed. Then there will be no tension on the wire harness once the sensor is fully seated.

Regards,

You can add a step 2.5 on his tips and put some anti-seize gel on the threads before you put them back on. future. i wish we would have done that with the o2 sensors on the headers. We had to use pbblaster and all sorts of fun to get them off.

I use anti-seize on any exhaust related threads & if any of that stuff gets on the sensor it will ruin it
