Default Megan Mid-Pipe Installation Issue w/ HKS Catback

Hey fellas

I took in my car to get my mid-pipe put in this morning. I dropped off my car to get lowered as well. When I went to go pick it up they said they couldn't do the mid-pipe installation because they couldn't get my 02 sensor off. I was aware of the special socket but I thought they would have it at the shop.

Than they said that you can't use the megan y-pipe w/ the HKS catback because it doesn't reach all the way. They said that I can fit the mid-pipes fine but I will need to use the HKS Y-pipe.

Does this sound right? I tried searching. I looked at socal disel's installation w/ HKS and it seems like on his y-pipe he welded some more piping to make it longer..

A little help from the guru's would be nice.

Thanks

Sounds like you need to find a better shop. There should be no issues with fitment and if they can't get the O2 sensors out then that says a lot about them. All of us Joe Blows have no problem getting them out, so why would they!? Take your money elsewhere man.

well thanks for the help guys

it's actually a very good shop. but they mainly do superchargers and such. they lowered my car perfectly, no issues whatsoever and when i asked if they could install the mid-pipe they said no problem. Anyways I'll take the pipe where it needs to be installed and that's at a muffler shop

yeah it should be a simple bolt on for the hks too. Let me know if it gets any louder after you install the mid pipe.

Shop #2. Installed the mid-pipe..150 bucks. Put everything on but had to use the HKS Y-pipe w/ the megan racing mid-pipes. The megan racing y-pipe was too short according to this guy just like the first shop I took it to said.

He said everything fits good other than that.

Sound, its not much louder than the HKS but it does sound more throaty. I will post a video soon.
