Default 3.76 Dyi Help!

Im about to go get my 3.76 installed and i was wondering if there's anything i should know before the install? I know i need 75w90 gear oil. but about the actual install..

i've already looked at bananaGs's website, and i've seen jeffsai's link, is there any more info? i've heard that you have to change the back cover from the Gs 400 diff and swap it with the supra unit. because of the holes.. how supra has 2 and gs has 3, The guy from carson didn't really know either.

how many hrs is the job? by good mechanic?

If you have a GS400, then it should be a direct swap. It's only the GS300s that needs to be modified.

They all have 3 holes on all...doesn't matter if Supra/GS3/4. It will bolt right up to all. Only difference is that the GS300 needs to swap the flange that goes to the driveshaft.

I diy'ed this and didn't change a thing from the Supra rear end! Bolts right up. Just make sure you have the right tools......read the DIY again. The 14MM hex socket(I think this is the size but could be wrong......pulling from memory) was a little hard to find in Atlanta.

How much did you pick that up for? im looking to swapping my lsd out. i have a kazz racing lsd which is supposed to be a solid unit. the only thing is that when its cold or when you make a turn slow it makes a clanking sound which Kazz said its normal do to the dual cluth set up. it came with the car but i dont like that sound at all plus it has a 4.26 gear ratio so top end on the car is a slug. so i will be doing the same swap as you....

I paid the listed price on carson website! it was expensive, but its 100% worth it. I've been looking for last 2.5 years for a unit, but finally decided since there were no clean condition used ones around to buy a new unit.

i've actually took it today to get price quotes, not that bad,$200 + oil, but he can't do it til mid august.

the mechanic recommended amsoil severe 75w90 synthetic, as is the same he's got in his supra T51R 6spd beast with the 3.76 LSD so i'll take his word for it

so we'll see how it goes..thank you guys for all your input!
