Default 2jz-gte vvti into 99 GS300 help

I was wondering if swapping in a 2jz-gte vvti motor is better to do because the 2nd Gen GS already has vvti in it or should i go with the non vvti 2jz-gte. I was planning on using the jdm aristo harness and ecu. Please give me some suggestion on what i should do. I am keeping the motor stock until i get it running correctly.

My List of Parts

JDM aristo 2jz-gte vvti complete swap harness ecu everything
intercooler
radiator with dual electric fan
usdm waterpump

I want to do the simpliest swap I can do before I do any mods to it. I just want to get that motor in my car running as a daily before i crank up the power

If your car is already VVT-i then stick with a GTE VVT-i

All the people that i have asked about this same question told me to stick with VVT-i thats what i did on my GS.

You will be fine with the Vvti swap, idk why you are replacing the factory electric fans with aftermarket electric fans though, just for looks?

Ok, I was going to say that the jdm vvti gte motor is already utilizing an electric fan. The non-vvti jdm motor uses a hydraulic fan. Either way....your all good.

Most guys say it is because of the price, availability, and because the R154 is another great choice but for a lot less money.

Just curious, how are you non-Florida GTE swap guys passing emissions?

as for putting in the v160 i don't quite need that tranny yet its quite expensive about 2 to 3 thousand so i am going to pass on that while the v154 is only about 500

as long as you don't have any check engine light and your car is obd2 they don't sniff your exhaust so they just plug up the OBD2 scanner when they do your state inspection i live in texas btw

So there is no way of them finding out you have a swapped engine if they only do the obd2 scanner test?
