BTW...just contacted a friend of a friend's shop in Bayshore, NY. They are willing to install the S&S headers for $550 and install a new Lexus OEM Y-pipe section (mine is currently cracked) for $150. Are these prices fair to you guys? Should I change out the piping (mid-pipe?) between the Y-Pipe and the rear mufflers (Borla rear-section) while I'm at it or is there no reason to? I am going to do this soon and then it's back on the dyno for a re-tune of my Apexi Neo to adjust for the headers.

 

ROCK............ $150 to install the y pipe! WOW! They already have to take the cats off the top of your y pipe......it's only a couple more bolts to take the whole y pipe down! This sounds waaayyyy over priced for that! It shouldn't cost more than $30-$50 extra for the y Pipe! $550 seems like a fair install for the headers though! come down to ATL and you can pay me $150 for that install!

How do you know there is a crack on the Y pipe?

 

The local Lexus dealership told me and then I went to a local Meineke and they said the same thing. And the car has been riding like a bag of _ _ _ _ for the last 1-2 months or so; it sounds bad also at WOT.

I'll try to talk them down a little more on the Y-pipe. Maybe I'll just tell him $650 for all and call it a day.
