Default red SRT filter and intake tube couplers for GS430...

ive seen some other srt setups with black couplers and filters, the kit for my '03 430 came with everything in red... have people switched these out after the fact or do different kits come with different colors for 300/400/430... anyone have the measurements of the filter opening and both rubber couplers on hand? if not ill drop srt a line.

The older SRT intakes came with red and the newer ones come with black. The only difference is that the red filters were the oiled kind and the new black filters are dry (non-oiled). I got this info directly from Moe at SRT.

thanks. srt just responded to my email and said the same...im gonna grab the black filter and couplers from them and will have the red parts available for sale with minimal mileage (500mi+/-) on the filter if for some reason anyone wants that stuff. i bought the kit new from another cl member that had purchased a ways back but he never opened the box... did moe happen to mention why they dont use the oiled filters anymore? they didnt say anything about this in their response. just curious if this means you have to do it yourself like with k&n types or if you just use it the way it is w/no oil.

He told me that the reason they switched to dry filters was because they last longer and never have to be replaced. Plus they don't have to be oiled every so often, all you need to do is clean it every once in awhile. They recommended every 6 months but you can clean it in shorter intervals if you'd like. To clean it you simply vacuum off the dust and dirt, tap it on a flat surface to knock all the gunk out, or wash it with a hose and let it dry. Way easier and pretty much maintenance free, I just cleaned it last month and it only took 10 minutes to clean and about 3 -4 hours to dry in the sun ... and the best part is, I didn't have to oil it
