Has anyone tried the Pulstar spark plug?
Haven't installed them, but maybe you can look at torquemaster sparkplug threads. What I took from reading the threads is if you didn't modify other parts of your engine, the extra spark isn't going to do anything.
Pehaps one point of data is to take a look at your smog report. If the HC level is already very low, this is one hint that all the fuel is getting fully burned.

I have not had DIRECT experience on them but if it's any consolation, page 112 of the April 08 issue of MODIFIED magazine they dyno tested Pulstar plugs on a 350Z and picked up 10.4HP and 7.2ft/lb TQ. The car only had intake and exhaust mods. The Z only had 1,200 miles on the odometer and OE spark plugs at the time of baseline testing.
$25 a plug!
$25 a plug!
So do the guys pretty much support the TM plugs now or what?

Okay... I just got of the phone with my tech and he said that the Pulstar plug do what they say they do but the reason he doesn't like them for our cars is that by the nature of how they work they are hard on the coil packs that our cars have. Instead of the coil packs lasting the life of the car... they may only last 2-4 years before you start seeing problems with them.
But does he explain why? I mean the pulstar holds charge like a capacitor until a spark...
Was our coil pack designed to work to sending power only when a spark's needed? If not, that means the coil pack was already sending steady current to the plugs, but was wasted as there's no spark. But plustar keeps that power that was supposed to be wasted, isn't it? How can it be bad for the coil pack when it was sending the same power?
I'm still new to this... so I might be very wrong.

I am think of installing PulseStar myself. I heard some good things about them. Based on what I have read they seem to work as advertised. I'll put them in the 1jz, instead of the 3uz, Engine is cheaper if I blow it. LOL. but I have not heard anything bad about them. And seen several different dynos on them. When I get a chance I will post the article I have read.
according to my tech they work as advertised.... but the issue is that they are hard on the coil packs, is what he said.... at $79.50 each... coil packs are not something you want to replace on a regular basis.. if my car had low mileage on it then I would try them no question... but I am at about 150K so I am going to go with TM's since there are no issues with the coil packs with those... I would like to see some dyno numbers on a GS400 with them installed ...as would a lot of other members on the forum I'm sure.
