3.23...the 3.76 (Supra TT) LSD is a great mod for this car! You WILL see a lot better acceleration but will lose 1-2 MPG because you will ALWAYS be at a higher RPM at any given speed in any given gear as compared to stock. GL!

The upgraded torque converter has been known to cause a CEL only on GS430's...

Nothing needs to be done. The speedometer works from a sensor on the wheel. Only a change in tire diameter will change the speedometer.

3.266

Supra TT automatics have 3.769
Supra TT 6 speeds have 3.13

The supra TT automatic carrier is bolt in. The supra TT 6 speed is not.

All 6 speed supras were LSD. Not all supra TT automatics where. Confusing and many do NOT know what they have.

Nope. 6 speeds were turbo only and had a 3.133 ratio

The NON turbo 5 speeds are 4.272 for 1993-1996 and then 4.083 for 1997-1998

The 6 speed turbos used the worm style LSD in all year models.
The automatic turbo used worm style LSD for 93-96 years and then went to the helical style LSD for 97-98 and LSD was an OPTION on 97-98 turbo automatics.

Non-turbo supras also had OPTIONAL(rare) LSD and used a worm style LSD model years 93-96 and then helical style in 97-98.

Either is fine. Since the 6 speed TT used worm style in all years that would SEEM to suggest it is possibly stronger. Of course the 6 speed differential is not a direct bolt on.

So, a used automatic TT worm style would be older and possibly more worn than any used helical style.

If you can find either one in good condition I would get it. That said MANY 1997-1998 turbo supra owners are unaware if their automatic actually has a torsen (helical for these years). Many have basic open differentials. Some sell these as torsen when in fact they may not be. The ONLY way I am aware of to make a positive determination is OPEN IT UP and LOOK. I actually bought one a few years back and had this problem. The seller was POSITIVE it was a torsen and initially accused me of not knowing the difference and then lying. He finally believed me and refunded my money.
