Default AFE intake installed

Finally after 2 weeks of waiting for my Xmas present to arrive, it is finally here. Wasted lil time & few crappy pic with the camera phone

The installed took about 1 hr "wasted time looking for an extension wrench"
In the end, all i can say is WOW. The sound is amazing and has a deep pitch past 5K RPM. I took it briefly for a spin up to 90mph on an empty road and to me it felt like driving a V8 N/A vehicle. The sound of the intake combined with the exhaust "felt to me" like I was moving faster lol.

The fitment and quality of the AFE intake is top notch. I havent seen Joe's intake or other compariable intakes but I once had a INJEN intake on the integra and this is by far made of better quality.

We need more performance mods tuners!!!!!

Let me know how it affects your gas mileage after the install and "normal" driving. If it improves I might thing about it. I drive about 60 miles a day and could use something to help improve my mileage. The performance of the vehicle is already there as its basically a daily driver.

I think the AFE is probably the best system out of the available short ram intakes. Pretty good shield between engine, plastic tube (no heat soak), and nice sound.

I almost bought the AFE, but decided on the JoeZ/HKS filter instead. You can't beat the cold air capability of the stock air box.

Just out of curiosity, but how could this intake improve fuel economy? I would think the best way to conserve gas is by keeping your foot out of the throttle and watching your avg mpg screen to gauge yourself. In most cases with the sounds the SRI's make, most people can't help themselves.

Discipline... LOL... ehhh... guess not... maybe those with long commutes (I have 145 miles a day round-trip, ALL highway) so I may go this route although I have read your reviews and JoeZ still seems the best bet...
