maybe dumb question but .. will the hp gain on the borla exhaust be the same as it would full catback exhaust... also wants the benifit of getting a full catback exhaust if gains are similar??
It wont be the same. In fact, you gain very little, if nothing with the borla exhaust. The pipe diameter is the same as stock and it's only an axle-back. The only advantage the Borla has over the OEM muffler is that the Borlas are straight-through design.
A full catback is usually the piping from the catalytic converter all the way to the back. Usually the catback system enables you to use larger pipes (within reasonable size) to gain power. You're going to see a good amount of power increase with a full catback as opposed to the Borla itself.
You won't see much of a HP increase with any aftermarket exhaust -catback or axleback - unless you're putting on aftermarket headers. Dynos show 0 - 3 hp.
On a GS do exhaust for the sound and the improved looks, not the power.
thanks guys .. but i do plan on gettin headers... so with headers ...catback would help? thinking of buyin the greddy power extreme catback off someone but if gains are very minimal might get a more attractive axleback

I haven't heard the Greddy in person, but supposedly it's pretty loud. It may be too loud for you.
Most guys here basically got rid of their OEM exhaust (from the cat and back) in favor of a dual pipe setup with an X-pipe. A member here recently made an additional 16whp/31ftlbs with a custom 2.5" piping (w/x-pipe) and some Air-Fuel tuning. That's damn impressive, considering that was his only mod! You can definitely gain some power by getting rid of the OEM system.
