Default SRT Intake drama

Today I received my SRT intake for my '98 GS 300. I was VERY disappointed upon examining the product. The heat shield seems to be used b/c of all of the scratches on both sides, the mounting holes had left behind marks of washers and there was dirty grease in the corner edge. The paint on the intake is also peeled off on some edges. It doesn't seem like a "high heat enamel coated (w/ceramic)" like posted on their site but rather just a spray of silver paint! The "SRT" label was also applied on the intake and I bet if I tried to peel it off the paint would follow as well! I assumed that this was going to be really high quality stuff but it's disappointing guys.

Has anyone else experienced this besides me? It was told to me that it'll take about one week to arrive when I ordered on the 13th of July, but I barely got it this evening July 27th at 5 p.m..

Man, what should I do? I already wrote them an e-mail and left a voicemail.

John

What did the chip and wiring look like?

I would suggest see what they have to say, you already tried to contact them. Keep us informed, I've been wanting one of those for quite a while.

It's actually a small rectangular black box. I'll post pictures later today when I take them. As far as right this moment, no one has replied back to me. From my first experience of contacting them to ask questions about the intake, they were had as heck to catch on the phone. Upon e-mailing them, it took them a while to get back to me. I don't know what's sup with their service over there but it sure doesn't make me happy.

Don't know what they'll do about the heat shield and peeling intake but I sure hope they don't tell me to send it back at my own cost. That would be so SCREWED up! I already waited like 2 weeks to receive it and now I can't even install it yet. Ughhhh

Default Take a look at this!

Ok, here are the pictures of the SRT intake and the heat shield that I received just last Saturday. Anyone had this issue with a bad product?

Looks like someone took the liberty of engraving their sig on my heat shield.

Now can anyone tell me if they'll be happy if they got this surprise upon anxiously opening their package? Would you pay $449 for this? I e-mailed the same pics except for this last one to SRT CEO Moe already but has not heard from him.

Man, this bites! It's like a tease just looking at it but I ain't smiling!

I would get them to replace it or give me some money back to keep what they sent me.

Good luck with getting this resolved. keep us updated.
