Low end (off the line) has decreased, high end (50-80) is outstanding. The engine really come to life at highway speeds. Off the line there's a little lag.

Weapon R did figure out a few things from earlier models like including the T for the hoses.

The quality of materials left a little to be desired. The connecting hoses and pipe connectors were lighter than I expected. I've had better luck with the K&N cia I have on my 350Z, or other products I've used in the past. The tube from the cia filter that I snaked down to the front bumper opening was great. I plan on using that feature in the future, whether I keep the WR or move on to something else.

Overall consideration for this product, 7 out of 10. It's a little better on the accel immediacy at highway speeds, has a great sound, and does better than the OEM air box. On the downside, this could never stand up to the power gains the Swift cia w/ECU provides. I'm going to keep it on the car for a few weeks to have some fun and probably go with a the stock air box with a drop in filter.

Dollar per HP gain does a drop in filter come close to providing the gains this set up does? Or could you do a drop in filter and a mod on the stock air box for a CAI setup?

Forgive the newbie questions and assumptions....I just bought my 2000 GS300 mid last week....I'm a former Integra lover....undergoing Lexus Rehabilitation.

Not really, but possibly yes :-)

You might think about things this way as far as HP gain in a GS PRIOR to going supercharged or turbo, neither of which is a viable option for me since this is my daily driver. I see things with three levels of HP gain:

3-5 HP gain ($50-$70)
Drop in filter (TRD, K&N, etc.)

6-10 HP keeping the luxury sound ($700-800)
Intake (Injen, RMM, Akimoto, LMM, or Weapon-R)
Exhaust (Borla, RMM, Magnaflow/mufflers with near OEM piping creating less backflow)

20-25 HP more of a tuner-car sound ($1,200-$1,350)
Intake (SRT w/ECU - best in market prior to a turbo)
Exhaust (Tanabe Medallion Touring, Blitz, etc/mufflers with larger piping, more backflow, to accomodate increased volume at intake)
