Question Borla or GReddy?

I want to upgrade my exhaust system for my '98 GS400. I am more interested with increasing my HP than sound or looks.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions for me?

Thanks!
Leesa

I was told that Greddy was better than Borla because the Greddy is cat back and Borla is not . I could be wrong its just what I heard......hope this helps.

Greddy.

If you want more power, definitely choose the cat-back over mufflers only. You will also lose more at the low end. Keep in mind.

If we are talking about Borla and GReddy PE, yes, it's noticable, specially if you have a GS300. GReddy PE is designed for turbocharged car which needs the max air flow. If you have GS300, I'd suggest you to go with muffler only.

I haven't seen a GReddy PE dyno but the Borla gives max around 7 hp peak plus it's only like 400 bucks or so. Decent performance, decent look, inexpansive, quiet, whatelse can you ask for?

The information you have is only half correct. The system was actuly designed for the US spec GS 400. Japan liked the style of the system so much they started selling it as well for the Japan spec. aristo. The systems was designed wiht 70mm piping for the higher output of the large 8cyl of the 400. When it was tried on the aristo in japan they found that with the same size piping that was coming to the US hp was greater then what they were using. I hope this has given some insight on the system. As far as what i would say about Borla and our system, they both are great enhancements to the over all out put. You already know what exhaust i will be using...lol
