A pic in the Lexus brochure and a pic from another member here both show that it is round.

Only thing i see about this is i dont want anything looks too big and people will call it ricy. Its a lexus not a honda. Thats what makes decisions so hard.

It shouldn't be about what people think. I agree that the non Lexus may look a little ricy but it sounds great and I like how it looks on the car.

Can you tell I have the Non Lexes HKS?

The Lexus HKS is definitely more flush with the car and doesn't stand out as much. That's a big thing for me.

Here's a video of the Lexus HKS on a dyno...

based purely on aesthetics... i would definitely take the lexus hks.. the tips look clean and fit perfectly.. im not a huge fan of the larger tips on the hks.. also, from the videos ive seen of the lexus hks, the sound is amazing.. i wish i could find someone in the dfw area with this exhaust! finally, there's the performance.. and since i havent seen/heard of anyone documenting reasonable hp gains for the lexus hks, im not willing to shell out that kinda cash to figure out what gains it would offer... oh well.. the wait continues

Sewell Lexus in Dallas had a new IS350 out on the lot when we bought our car last October. While I was waiting for ours to have lo-jack installed I took the one with the Lexus HKS for a spin. It sounded great to me.

You might check there to see if they have any others around with it already installed.

I think the non-Lexus is too large for my taste and is ricey, which makes it out of my options. If the OEM was only a few hundred more than the non-OEM (not more than double!), I would have gotten it already. Still on the fence on this one due to the price.

i have the tanabe medallion touring and sounds kick *** to me. got it from hopupracing.com for $556 shipped. Makes my IS sound just like a 350Z/G35 but deeper. i think it sounds better, but thats just my two cents....

I cant understand how people can say a big exhaust is ricey ....So if one day someone has a IS350-T with the Non-Lexus HKS's putting down 450hp+ does that make him ricey? IMHO I think people forgot what rice meant. The only time I will call an exhaust system rice is when either its a PepBoys exhaust just welded on, or dual exhaust that is cocked to the side (No offense to anyone that already has this) Keep in mind that the ISx50 IS A SPORT SEDAN, so with the Non-Lexus HKS exhaust, which is made in Japan, I think its making the car more sporty.

I agree with iSuxeL.

People seem to not know what the term means anymore .

Urban Dictionary defines "ricer" as:

A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to):

- Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder

...there's more but I don't want to attack people with a wall of text.

The HKS exhaust is actually pretty well proportioned to the IS, so it's not ricetastically huge or anything.

Also, if you say this exhaust sounds ricey, then I don't know what you would call stock G35's and 350Z's...

Anyways, THIS is a ricey exhaust system:
