That's the reason i got a 400, but i wish we had more support on performance parts like the 300.
hey, i been meaning to ask you about runnig no cats. did that pop a check code or made the car run lean since we have before and after o2s?

even if we could run no cats, the power difference is very little. It's not worth the risk in cali. I think the fine is up to $10,000 now.

Sadly, I think we've hit a wall as far as mods for the 1uz-fe. Of course, there is the option of FI, but that's not obtainable for most people.

A lot of times I feel my car is slloow and has no power. Doesn't help that our engines are probably a bit overrated from the factory.

as you already know we need to feed the ponies for them to performe and cats are an expensive item. i don't plan on running super rich, but enough to be on the peek of performance. i would hate to ruin my cats because of the extra fuel. i am not worried about cops, they are too busy harrasing honda and acura owners besides if they feel my car has mod that are non street legal they will send me to the ref put my bolt-ons back to normal to pass smog. if i had an engine swap or turbo then i would worry if i had to go to the ref.

Yea, in Cali, you do not want to get sent to the State Ref nor if you get a five-o who knows about cars in which some of them do, they will check under your hood and underneath your car to see if you have a cat, some people place the cat shield over their test pipes but i'm not sure if that work on getting by, plus without a cat it probably will not pass smog as for our cars have dual cats... As far as cats go for our cars, me n my friend who are avid mechanics have never seen a Lexus cat go bad...

all comments made after this post are getting out of subject. i asked this question and all i want is an answer from people that have expirenced in doing this, not about cali this cali that. sorry don't want to sound like a jerk, but if was worried about illegal mods in my car i would have to revome a lot of things already. thanks for your consurns, but trust me anything that has to do with vehicle code violation, i already know. got first hand expirence while driving a sports car back when i was a teen. that's one of the reasons why i don't own coupes anymore, stricly sedans.

unless you're "bolting on" a turbo or sc, the GS3 has no chance against the V8 GS.

The stock tc stall speed is pretty high on a GS300 already, not sure any higher would help on that one...can anyone else chime in? A thinner head gasket to raise compression ratio would help out too. Stock is 10.5:1 I believe.

better off going with nitrous, 50-100 shot. $500-$1000, depending on the set up. or use the $4500 towards to turbo you gs300 or do the 2jz-gte vvti swap. but expect to dish out more $$$ if you do go turbo or do the swap. there are upgrades, tuning......etc...etc... involved.
i was just thinking of simple bolt on also but it still wouldnt be enough so i went turbo, i thought that would be it but nope i learned that now i have to do ignition upgrade, fuel, thicker head gasket ect... but now im at 261rwhp
255 torque at 7psi. so total spent $3600, hp gained 90

I spent $2600 on my setup, but I put it together and all myself. I'm probably gonna spend another $1000 here in a bit for a new fuel system and tuning. I tell you man, the electronics are the killers in price for all these turbo setups. I think more than half the cost of my whole setup is in sensors, control units, and electronics lol.
