Default HKS Transmission Controller?

I saw this on-line:
http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/...speed/vac.html

Looks like it increases the speed of the shifts on the automatic transmission. Can anyone read Japanese better then the on-line translators translate the text?

It looks like all it does is remove the speed limiter. Where did you see that it changed the transmission behavior?

same here, only remove the speed limiter, not increasing the speed of shift delay

if that's all it does then it's a waste of money IMO, how often do ppl go faster than 110?

Yeah not that often....Now if it was to increase speed shifts like the IS-F it will be very worth it.

The AT in the ISx50 is nothing like the one in the IS-F. There will never be an electronic controller that could make that much of a difference (1/10 second shifts).

There is a lot of talk about transmission in here. Plus (not that I am saying this is the same for the LExus) on Honda automatics they had two solenoids controlling the automatic, I can best explain it as an engage solenoind and a disengae solenoid for the tranny. By increasing the speed of these solenoids electronically, you got a firmer shift. I'm sure the shift speed can be increased, but I am not sure if this does it or not.

Translation of Japanese text:
Velocity Advanded Computer is 6 fast automatic transmission on-board car private speed limiter cancellation devices of Toyota, after the speed limiter cancelling (above 180km/h) is the full computer of the automatic transmission. Electronic control conversion advances at the time of controlling the automatic transmission, the genuine computer has done texture small-scale control according to driving circumstance. With former speed limiter cancellation system, effect is produced on this texture small-scale control, the characteristic 狽・of 6 fast automatic transmissions it becomes impossible to utilize sufficiently. Then, with HKS the yes 狽 ノ it did that you pull out without limited to the characteristic 狽 ・of the individual 6 fast automatic transmissions.

The is350 is already one of the fastest automatic transmissions to-date. I forget but its somehwere like 0.35 miliseconds for the actual shift.

the us limitation is 140, not 110. this is a $500 piece for jdm cars that have a very low speed limit.

but it still chooses when to shift after you've issued the command. so that number is accurate only to an extent.

There is a company in San Diego that makes an automatic transmission controller. I asked him about doing an IS. He said he would need a brave soul in the San Diego area to provide a suitable test rig.

His kit converts Supra automatics to sequential manual type shifting and he seems confident he would be able to emulate the OEM gearbox to prevent OBDII codes from being set.

If anyone in San Diego is interested in talking to the guy about it (the product would deliver a manumatic function similar to the promised function on the IS-F) pm me for his contact info.

That sounds really interesting. Did you tell him how extensively Lexus used CAN bus for the drivetrain? How expensive is his Supra kit?
