The K&N has given me good results. You should do some research on it and see if you like it. Plus it comes with a heat sheild.

Almost all aftermarket intakes, exhaust systems, and engine mods that are not OEM or manufacturer/dealer installed are illegal.

It is illegal, but it's a fix-it ticket. If you can do all the installations yourself, all you would need to do (if you do get a ticket for it) is to uninstall it, get it checked, and reinstall it.

I thought that LMS, K&N, Fujita, and the Injen that is coming out all has the Carb exempt EO numbers included. Besides, the cops wouldn't be abel to tell since our engine bay is all covered up. I doubt our cars would be pulled over and asked to pop up the hood.

They are all short ram intakes. If you guys in CA are worried about CARB and getting checked by the police, just get the black intake pipes and black fittings. The filter will be hidden under anyway so that doesn't matter.
