There's only one aftermarket headers for the GS400/430 that I know of.

I would recommend 'jacking-up' the engine about 2 inches ( taking the motor mount nuts off - 4 of them ) in order to get the heat shields out. Lee's ( Pearlpower ) write-up is very informative, but remember he did his install on a SC430 and it appears that the SC430 actually has more room than the GS430 for heat shield removal. I did the install on my GS430 and I needed to 'jack' the engine up to get clearance to remove the heat shields. Also see Allan's write-up ( BA_GS400 ) on his install on the GS400, another very helpful installation documentation. You'll need to extend the driver's side O2 sensor to use on the passenger side and then use the passenger side for the driver's side O2 location. The passenger side O2 sensor is longer than the drivers side O2 sensor and you'll need do what I'm suggesting in order to not damage the O2 sensors by 'stretching' and pulling wires loose in the O2 sensors. Make sure you have the right tools and patience, then it's definitely doable as a DIY. Good luck.

honestly, you don't need to know how much hp or torque you're gonna get, all it matters is that you'll get a very noticeable responsive car especially in a 430. i couldn't be any happier.

I don't think I've seen a single thread or post that shows the HP or TQ gains on a NON supercharged car that was a good dyno run. (no problems or issues)

Am I wrong on this?

SC430 front clip and GS430 front clip are the same in the engine area so header R&R should be the same as well. Should be no different. xx400 owners must lift their engine. GS430 owners have not.
A good dyno run exist in the SC430 forum. Links above.

Lee,

I actually did 'jack' my engine up on my GS430 about 2 inches to get enough room to remove the heat shields. Could I have removed them without raising the engine? Maybe, but I believe I would have needed to cut or deform the shields in order to get them out.

I actually came close to jacking up my engine, but managed after some time to finagle that damn thing out of there. Very tight, and I even thought of cutting it out but managed to find a way of getting it out without jacking or cutting. Not easy to do so I can see where one would jack it up.

Hey Pearl, those links do not work.

I'd be interested in seeing that thread with an actual *non-supercharged* dyno run. The very very first one that I had seen really early on was not accurate and they ended up saying that the dyno operator was not doing things very well. Torque numbers were obviously wrong, etc. I thought the guy was from Texas.

Anyway, would love to see a good thread/dyno run as every single one of my 20+ timeslips is not showing any gain on the 'big end' at all after the headers.

Thx.
