I have 102k on my gs2 01.. need to do oil change but don't want to go to dealer again.. or any local shop.. I prefer to get the oil and filter myself and do it.. ANY SUGGESTS on the items??

Alot of us run Mobil 1 synthetic. I previously used a K&N oil filter but made the switch to a Mobil 1 filter.

Mobil 1 Synth....5W-30....I used FRAM filter.

 

Amsoil 2000 extreme 0-30 wt,
Amsoil Eao34/ or SD34 filter

 

Castrol Syntec 5W30
OEM Toyota and Mobil1 filters

 

It is pretty amazing - I tried a couple of searches on oil, which oil, etc. Search engine comes up with nothing.
There is a whole Maintenance Forum that includes the oil topic. Can't imagine how the search comes up empty.

Is it good to changed from reg Mobile Clean 5000 5-30 to Mobil1 5-30??
which is the best filter to go with that?

 

(1) qt. Mobil 1 Syn 0w-20
plus
(4) qt. Mobil 2 Syn 5w-30

Purolator premium filter.

That's what i'm running (changed oil yesterday )

 

You all should be using TOYOTA filters from the dealer. As for the oil, Castrol GTX.

 

Amsoil 5W-30 Synthetic oil and Amsoil EA 057 oil filter.
