What do you call this........?
Can anyone tell me what do you call this part (red circled)? Different people has different names for it? I plan to raise it up a bit (if possible). or has anyone done this before?

Does any CL member think it is possible to raise the resonator up by a few inches? (by welding). my resonator keeps scraping whenever going over speed bumps, even on angles
Because i'm running on lowered 18"s so therefore even when i go over speed bumps;sometimes only it will scrape(depending on the hieght of the bump). My rear has been raised up to a finger gap but maybe i might to raise up the front?
Does anyone think this is too low for an 18" drop?
Hmm I'm not sure how to answer this,this is embarrassing; i know i'm using TTE Coilovers and the last settings before this drop was
FRONT = 26" .4
REAR = 26"
Don't really know how to read it though but he did perfected the front for me!
here's a pic of the front before the drop

after the drop....

FRONT = 26" .4
REAR = 26"

Thanks again
I just removed mine.Its a little raspier sounding but hardly noticable and I have headers and borlas so if youre running stock exhaust you prob. wont even notice a diff.I thought I might gain a little boost from removing it but after seeing it was stright through I highly doubt it.Good Luck

so you mean you removed your resonator and then insert a straight pipe to join the sapce in between? Therefore by doing these, there is no way scraping can occur now going over bumps (since the stock resonator is the lowest part of the chassis to ground clearance)?
Do you have a pic on how your straight pipe looks like?
Thanks in advance
