The idle is at 800 RPMs when warm and in park on my 2000 GS3. I was hoping to get it down to 700 or 650. Does anyone know how to lower the idle speed? Everything on the engine is stock. Thanks.
It seemed from reading other threads that proper parked idel speed was 650-700 and thus mine was high. But if you guys don't think it is a problem then I won't worry about it.
Could the higher idle speed be an indication that something else isn't quite right. I cleaned the throttle body a few months back and everything else has been changed according to spec.
Your idle is computer controled. There really isn't any way to adjust it. even if you find a screw to back out the ecu will adjust it accordingly.
There may be something more to it, vacuum leak, excessive unmetered air getting in. But like it was said, till you hit a grand I wouldn't worry much about it.
