Default Bov

Hey guys, yesterday when I was in my school parking lot I saw a turbocharged VW. He was cruising then suddenly mashed the pedal and when his car hit 2nd gear you could hear the blow-off valve releasing the compressed air. Is there a way to get that sound on a n/a engine? Is there a part that I can add to give me that sound?

Unless your car has forced induction, there's no "authentic" way of producing that sound. The closest you can get is with a loud intake and you hear the "hiss" as it closes up when you let go of the gas.

There's also an electronic device that you can now buy that is button-activated. It imitates the BOV sound by the press of a button. Please don't get this. It's just not worth it.

Especially when someone ask you to open the hood so they can check out the "turbo" in there.

U wanna know something? VW's can't run BOV, they work with DV valves....
If that guy is running a BOV, he is losing mad boost just to get the sound of the bov, pointless....

I know because my lil bro has VW 1.8 337 6spd and i bought him a HKS SSQV bov, lets say the car didn't run 2 well, so we switched back 2 the DV and the car pulls hard!

and BTW, its sooooo gay to have a fake BOV, OMG... people will just laugh at u

bov wents to the atmosphere!!!

DV recycles the air back into the air intake for faster spool/quick response.....

Same with all WRX's and STI's....they are all using OEM DV's, the 1's u see with HKS SSQV's or other BOVS are all loosing boost and faster spool responses, but chances are they are running upwards of 25psi so its not a huge thing....but most japenese cars went 2 atmosphere!!!

All porsche 911TT's, all audi's, all Vdubs use DV's!!! Those germans, LOL
