The last rattle fixed...whooo whoooo
All,
There have been posts about the auto tensioner bearings going bad , but in my case
the heatshield that is wrapped around the pipe between the CAT and the glass resonator was the culprit. DO NOT let a muffler shop swindle you into a new section. Just cut off the two heat shields screws to remove it, less than a minute work.
Firestone wanted $500 to replace the section.....went to the Midas near my house, $20 under the table, no shield, quiet car.
The misc. rattle journey seemed endless, but it's finally over. I think I have nailed them all now!!!
One last thing to tackle is the suspensiion gargling noise over certain road dips which every mechanic I talked to says they can't find the problem( everything under the car is solid) .
Maybe it's in my head.
