Quick question kinda off topic but would it be wise to keed the 5 speed auto tranny with the srt turbo set up, or should I consider a 4 speed aristo trans? I'm a novice.

if you dont' plan on going over ~380hp, the 5spd would be OK. Larry @ SP built 2 5spd tranny to hold ~around 500hp, and both seems to break rather quickly (even with proper tranny cooling). IIRC, Mikal that has a gs400 tranny built to handle 500hp and is still running perfectly...you might want to talk to him if you're serious about going 5spd auto.

Just an update.... The car is running awesome right now. All I did was raise my idle to 800 and the car is great. No more hesitation, no more stalling, etc. I have one more thing I am gonna do. A resistor, inline with my coolant temp sensor. It should keep the car in open loop and will be easier to tune. Anyway, I will be on the dyno again next week and then moroso for a time slip. I might even go dyno on a "dynojet" to see the difference in hp for *****s and giggles. The dynomite I have been using is way more accurate. I'll be running some race gas and probably boosting around 25lbs. Can't wait. Hopefully low 12's. I need a tranny and tires to get into the 11's. Peace...
If you look at the ignighter there is a blank hole in the connector with no wire in it. Pull a pin and wire out of your olf harnes and run it to the wire in the ECU box that feeds signal to the tach. I don't remember the wire off the top of my head, but if you have a schematic for the GS300 you sould be able to find it.
Ben
Yes. The empty pin from the ignitor should be pinned and the wire routed to junction connector EA3 (in the ecu box). Splice it into pin 2 (black/yellow) wire and presto...dash tacho works!
Well, we finally got Dex's car back into the schedule after months of hold ups (waiting for parts/other cars/short staffed). Everything works! Return fuel system is operating perfectly. No engine light (so far ).
I'm gonna jump the turbo system to parallel operation and adjust the shift linkage tomorrow. Should be back in his hands by the w/e.
Trans shifts great! It's got the the 3 light/4 selector thing going on though. She's ripping! Boost is smooth even with the parallel operation. NO CHECK LIGHTS!
I did notice a little full load/full throttle high rpm hesitation. It's only occasional. I think we should change out the OE spark plugs. We'll keep you posted.
