Default a GS400 burnout video

Just wanted to share this with my other gear-heads in this forum.

You know what all us gearheads want to do when it's time for a new set of tires!!!

PS. Pirelli P-Zero Nero P245/45/17. Only performance mods to car are HKS mufflers, JB Headers and a torque converter.

Hmmmm. YOU'RE RIGHT!

It didn't work at first for me, then I noticed the way this board is putting ... in the middle of the link.

So, I repasted the link in place. The ... is still there, and now it works for me.

It should be this, shortbuswindowlicker.com/bf2/images/Lexus_GS400_Smoke-show_2-11.wmv

Cool,
I wish I still had my Video of my burnout when I had my 19" equips. We staged the car so long that you couldn't see my car only the headlights. Then I got new tires.

GS burnout

Apparently Streetfire finally fixed there Lexus section of vids. You see a few vids of GS' in there. I know for the longest time if you tried to link to Lexus vids, it would pull up a bunch of VW vids

THAT WAS SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!

my girlfriend was just sitting here while I was watching the video. haha- she ran over and asked "Is that you??!!!!" and was all mad.

hahahaha - since I knew it wasn't me, I went ahead and smiled a guilty smile and said "noooo..." and she pressed me more about it and asked "then who was that and where did that happen?!"

haahaa - oof. now i know now to show her any future videos of me peeling out.

bwahaha

Okay, I'm sure I'm going to get flamed for asking this, but how do they do that? If you apply one foot to the brake and the other foot to the gas, don't the brakes stop the rear wheels from spinning? And if they aren't pressing on the brakes, are the tires spinning that fast that the car doesn't move at all? Can you engage the front brakes without engaging the rear brakes? I'm confused.

Well heres the thing. Your front brakes are about 2-3x more powerful than your rears. When you do the burnout here is the key: Gas it down about halfway and only hold the brake pedal just enough to the point where the car won't move(about 30-40% of full braking force). Since the front brakes are much stronger...it will hold the car in place while the rear tires spin. Once the rear wheels spin fast enough(aka: higher RPM's), you can let off the brakes slightly(still must have it applied or car will speed up quickly) and the car will move foward slowly.

thanks you guys, I like the feedback.

The headers made things slightly deeper in tone, and definitely more of a growl when getting into it at around 1/2 throttle and more.
The power is not what I would call "real" noticeable, but, just enough that you ask yourself "...is it really there, or just the sound making me think it's faster".
I wouldn't be surprised if it was the 5-15hp improvement across the rpm range that I was expecting. My butt-ometer doesn't register improvements well.

In another couple of months, I'll go to the track again (Ohio) and we'll see what they REALLY did for me!
