Apexi S-AFC installed today!
Yes,
I think you can get the most gains out of a S-AFC. On my '97 Supra TT, I got about 30 rwhp by leaning out my Air/Feul Ratio. The S-AFC costs around $320 than you will have to pay about $200-300 for the Dyno tuning to adjust the Air/Feul Mixture. If you decide to do this let me know what type of results you get. I got the Swift Air Intake/ECU and I got about 10 rwhp, it advertises 30-40 rwhp. I spent about $800 on this. If I had to do it all over again I would get the S-AFC and put in a K&N Drop Air Filter.

GSracerRY,
first of all, with just an intake i think you might be able some hp but dont know how many for sure. Weapon R should be coming out with an intake for the gs430 soon, so just wait on that. i believe that if you used the afc together with the weapon r intake, you could possibly gain 20hp maybe more.
The warranty depends on each dealer, some dealers are cool with alot of stuff and they just dont care, on the other hand, if you get rims, they will flip out. so i'd say talk to your dealer first before you do anything.

Yes like RA said we need the dyno.
Thanks GS4K and SilverGS...i think i mite try to get the meter and then wait on the intake. the thing that i liked about the apex meter was that u could adjust the meter back to the stock settings if u have to, where u could not do that with the intake. u think this is a wise decision?
im not sure i know what your trying to say, but yes, the meter can be set back to stock settings if you wish. i think if your willing to wait, y2kgs has something new that might be better than the afc. its still in testing and he should have the results soon, so i suggest you wait a bit before you do anything.
my '98 Lexus GS 400 dyno'd at 230 rwhp, bone stock. After installing the Air Filter and ECU and driving it around for 30 minutes, so that ECU would learn again, I dyno'd it again @ 241 rwhp. I really was not happy with the gains.
As far as the S-AFC, there is a Lo and Hi Throttle. You can zero out the Lo throttle so that it would run like you don't have the unit on, but on the Hi throttle you can make your changes. I set the Hi throttle on my Supra at 80% of full throttle. This means when the throttle is at 80% or greater my Hi settings will kick in any lower than this my Lo setting will be on. It real simple once you get the unit installed and read the manual. I'm not certain what the Swift ECU is doing but my guess is that it is leaning out the Air/Fuel mixture to provide more HP. The problem with this is not all cars are the same and you can't used pre-set settings on all cars and achieve the same gains. I'm not sure what else the ECU piggyback can be doing to provide more HP.
