Mean Gene,

SRT is working on their Stage 2 ECU that is supposed to add more power to the original HFI/ECU. It will cost from $50 to $100 to switch the old SRT ECU. I guess SRT now feels the pressure from other tuners.

sliverGS,

No I am not saying that the APEXI is a waste of money but rather than getting the unit and hoping all will work out. Its best to stay tune and see what comes out which will be this week

Remember that outside of the passion we have for performance, we very well understand that this is a business & we will do our homework in order to stay ahead of the curve. The philosophies working behind the scenes at SRT will always prompt the improvement and creation of product lines.

As far as competition goes, it will always be there in one form or another & goes with the territory and should be expected. At the same token, the competition must also recognize the level of R&D which we have done to produce the successful type of products that we offer. SRT has not even begun to expose the enginuitive capabilities it possesses.

Happy Motoring.

Default You should be fine

SilverGSguy,

Without forced induction, you should be very happy with 190 to the rearwheel. If you want added performance, upgrade the ignition with a HKS Twin Power Ignition computer, the TRD LSD and maybe a 3200rpm stall torque converter.

Hehe... maybe you can get Mike to set you up with a Vortech Supercharger, fuel return, and the Supra Twin Turbo's fuel pump... couple that with a downgraded 100 shot version of the "taxi's" Edelbrock Nitrous system and you'll be able to run 12+ et's. ... then again I don't think your rear tire will help too much.

Actually I did reply to a different tread {weapon R}
Here is a copy of what I posed under that tread.
Here is the update on what is going on for now. It seems that different shops have different numbers for the GS4 and what the stock dyno is. RMM states that its 249HP & 245TQ stock. SRT states that its 226HP & 235TQ stock. Also from a indepentant study, they have found that the stock GS4 is 249HP & 245TQ stock which leads me to believe that it is 249HP & 245TQ.
Weapon R has decided to run there own test for the GS4 <stock,SRT,Weapon R> during this coming week. Hope you understand its very important to get the real reading so everyone can compare them to one another.
Forgot to mention about car right
well, we only ran one test given the above issue but lets just say it runs strong for now. It needs to be tune more and run some more dyno testing but all that well happen soon. I am very happy with the results for now but will be retune again soon.

In my understanding, GS430 should have around 240 to 255 rwhp, 15~20% lost. If that is true, RMM's dyno is more accurate. On the other hand, how come SRT only has 226 rwhp? It doesn't look right for me..... Could anyone in SRT answer my question? Is there any member who has done dyno on their stock GS4?

Exclamation Dyno Testing

There are many ways to dyno a car, in an automatic it is especially difficult if you are unable to disable the 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears and lock the TC, if you do not do so you will get inaccurate readings. If you look at our dyno curves they start down low at about 2000 RPM, that is because we disables the 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears and made runs on 4th gear (a 1:1 ratio gear) and also locked the TC (torque converter) so we get precise readings of the HP and Tq. If anyone does not do so you will get different HP and TQ readings in other gears as well as the torque multiplication of the TC will skew the Tq readings of the dyno.

Yes I am back! And I want to see some dyno charts, done the PROPER way, not just a dyno chart, something that shows from 2KRPM in 4th gear (for newer '98+ cars)all the way to redline.

PS. I can easily show anyone figures of the GS400 or GS300 on a dyno running much higher numbers than shown in our charts with the SRT HFI alone just by running on 3rd gear and not locking the TC.

when you do your dyno, just do the dyno the same way which ever way you choose for ALL the run, with all the settings or intakes that you gonna try.

then the result will still be valid, even your dyno level is scaled up/down, the gain different between different intake setup still show.

Anh

we need more dyno from other members, i just can't believe that so far I only see RMM dyno and Swift dyno, any one else volunteer? dyno butt does not count ha ha ha

I will do mine soon, till I get the car setup the way i want it first.

Hey Anh, I talked to the guys at Colvin Automotive here in North Austin(on Hancock)....right by SW's shop..(do you know who SW is?)
They said that they will dyno my car anytime I want, no appt. necessary. They said that any Saturday morning at 8:00 am I can show up and have it done....They are open to anyone for the first couple of hours, then whatever car club they are hosting for the day will show up(Supra, Camaro, Porsche, Mustang, wtc..) I have been to the shop to watch my buds dyno their Maximas, and I can tell you it is a nice, clean, Dyno set-up(Dyna-Jet)...They will even give you a floppy disc with copies of your runs and other data stored on it.....I plan on doing it in the next couple of weeks....Your welcome to join me....This way, I will know what I am currently putting to the tire, and guage that against the "soon to be released" racing piggy back ECU... Oh yeah, I believe I was quoted $40 for three passes...Tiny

Thumbs up RA - Did Mine!

RA - Yes, I've dyno'ed my GS EVERY time I've done a horsepower mod. Guess I'll need to call my friend & get him to download all my runs on a disc & send it to me so I can post it. In the meantime, my baseline runs (3) averaged 239.9 HP @ 5900 rpms & 244.1 ft-lbs torque @ 4000 rpms. If we're to believe Lexus claims, then driveline efficiency works out to be right at 80%. These runs were done on a WinPEP 1200 HP dyno at an ambient temperature of 82.5 degrees F. This was in late October - it's HOT down here in Louisiana!!

Mean Gene,

I assume 239 rwhp is tested under stock GS400? How come everyone has obvious different dyno results? SRT has 226 rwhp, RMM has 249 rwhp, and you have 239 rwhp. Since your test was done under hot weather, your optimal result would be closer to RMM's one, or y2kgs's.

Do you have SRT HFI/ECU for your GS4 and did dyno? I know you did dyno when you had Borla the first time. Really appreciate your input, M.G., and everyone.
