Heres the story: I pulled into gas station, using 93 Supreme filled the tank up while the car was on, went in to pay for the gas and come back out the check engine light came as well as the TCS light keeps blinking, this just happened but I was wondering if any one had any idea's what it may be? I know that technically your not supposed to run the engine while filling an almost empty tank but I wasn't really thinking. I f anyone knows what the problem may be, please email or IM me on Dmitryd9 on AIM. Thanks!

jump terminals te1 to e1 and read codes. tell me what it does
looks like _ = flashes *=1/4 second
_ _ * _ _ _ _****_ _ * _ _ _ _ _ _ _
first code 24
second 27
codes will repeat after all of them have been shown

I'm confused by your reply.
Dmitryd9, I'd suggest first getting the check engine light code read. If you're not familiar with how to do that, you can take your car to Autozone or a similar auto parts store and ask them to pull the OBDII code for your check engine light. The OBDII port is under the driver's side dash close to the hood release lever.
Once you get the code read, that will give a good indication of what's wrong with the car. It's possible that the gas cap just wasn't screwed in very tight, which can cause a CEL.
Hey quick update, I just got off the phone with the Lexus service manager and he told me that the reason the light came on while running is because every Lexus is very sensitive for fuel pressure loss due to reliability purposes. Basically, from what he told me, they want to monitor if there is any change within the operating mechanics of the engine and drivetrain so they can correct any problem before it causes any damage or problems within. From what I understand in my research of the problem of why the check engine light came on is that unlike most Honda's that can adapt to simple changes in fuel pressure and air intake because of their ecu's ability to remap to adjust to simplechanges in the air/fuel ratio, Toyota's and most Lexus' have to get the computer upgrade first (chip and/or piggyback) in order to not throw a check engine light (very sensitive to change in ratio). I went to a few different Lexus owners website's and they seem to have almost the same problem of throwing check engine light when changing an intake from stock to modified depending on the brand of intake, no name and low grade seem too do it all the time whereas more expensive intake does not seem to cause many problems if any on the sensors. This is from what I got as a response to my search on check engine lights through a few different search engines and running it by a local Lexus tuner shop. So if anyone is having problems with intake installation and/or check engine light after replacing almost every part of the fuel/air intake system double check by replacing your modified intake to stock intake whereas that seems to be causing most of your problems on throwing sensors/lights on your dash. Hope this helps. Thanks to everyone for your help!
oh yeah, the check engine light and TCS OFF light on the dash that was blinking turned off in 4 days after it came on without me doing anything. Lexus service manager said it would come off automatically once the computer ran a check of the system.

The car's ECU probably just learned and adapted to the change. Did you ever find out exactly which OBDII codes you threw?

that pretty much somes up why brian posted about the gas cap. no biggie..
My check engine light has been on since I bought it. I took it to the dealer and they said it was from the custom intake. The offered no solution to getting the stupid light off. However, when I took my car to a different mechanic to get my new suspension in....he returned the car with no check engine light. It of course turned on within a day or two. Any suggestions as to how to get the damn thing to stay off without removing the bulb??? The orange light looks dumb with my blue display.

Get the OBDII diagnostic code scanned, which will give you an idea of what generated the check engine light. Once you know the code you can further diagnose the problem. I would NOT remove the CEL bulb.

sorry to say this but get a better intake...if the check engine light is on, then there is something wrong..
I work for Toyota and have a very good understanding of Toyota systems. Not much I cant solve. But in order for myself or anyone to help you we are going to need to know which obd2 code is generated causing your check engine light to come on.
