While I can't comment of Lextreme torque converter, I can comment on the Edge Racing Converter. These guys make converters that stand up to racing application using the OE converter. According to them, in the 9 years they've have not had one return because of dissatisfaction with their product.

You send in your stock converter and they furnace braze the turbine and impeller. The wear surfaces are fitted for enclosed Torrington bearings and the drive hub and spline insert are made of 4130 chrome moly steel. The clearances are tightened for a more efficient coupling and the STR (torque multiplication is increased using the 3.0 stator with the element upgrades. The lock up feature is upgraded to the latest "high carbon" friction. The stall math is increased by changing the impeller and the stator. No cutting, no bending. This will not only retain the efficiency of the OE converter, it will increase it. These guys are some of the best in the business. I have had people I know use them in the past with no worries at all, even after thosands of abusive miles. It is where my TC is coming from. IMO, the Dragon just isn't worth the nearly double price premium...

What do Edge Racing charge to upgrade the GS converter$400?

Do you have the Edge Racing TC or just thinking about it.?? I know Synco357got an Edgeracing TC and he seems happy w/ it.
I 've been considering Lextreme's TC upgrade for $ 180 or Edgeracing's for $425. It sounds like Edgeracing does more to the TC. but I have not heard of anyone having any prolems w/ Lextreme's TC uppgrade.
