Thanks Brian.

I've got a few more questions about specific set up for each stage, but I may address them to Mo. Things like fuel delivery, engine management, compression ratio, etc.

enigine managment is done with custom ecu's like how he did with his intake... he has some computers from lexus that they gave him.. to handle engine management and trans management... to take care of that... no worries thereas far as compression I beleive it is going to be in the 9:1 area or 9:5:1

aftermarket fule pump intank 1000cc fuel press. reg. 550 cc injectors.. ect..

i was wondering if i can put my dad's supercharger that he has on his ford f150 i think it's a vortech vs2. i know that if it fits i will have to get a manifold etc...but my question is will the vortech with the aftercooler fit in the is300? the guy who put in my dad's supercharger was a specialist from roush racing and now i hear he is one of the specialists for team lexus!! so i would like your opinions!! thanks

why do you have to get a manifold? also I would not mess with it. there is alot more then jsut bolting it on.. I am usin a vortech type SC... I have no aftermarket manifold.. which manifold are you referring to? also you can try it.. I would not tho....there are bigger things to worry about like engine management... shift points fuel management... ect..

I hope this answers your question...

scoot-- I too have dont this research prior from suprastore.com...... but the thing is even tho the motor is the same as the 98 Supra NA the manifolds are diff., the engine compartment is layed out diff. ( intercooler tubing) and our car is OBD2 ver 2 which makes engine management diff. so we cannot simply bolt on a turbo kit from a supra and make it werk.....not to mention the intercooler space in the front bumper is not the same as a Supra..

I have talked to many tuners about this and companies that make the turbo kits.. It can werk but you have to get alot of custom werk done and it ends up bieng as much as a kit from SRT/XS/TOYOMOTO/AREA51..
These companies have strived to make our cars faster and have done so very well in the early stages of aftermarket development, I would personally stick to these companies when lookin to do any sorts of Forced Induction.... My .02

i was lookin at the SRT Super Chargers possibly a stage II, but not for a little while, i wanna see how the manual tranny w/an intake takes off in comparison to the auto; the difference will be shown when i get it dynoed(i cant wait til my 02 arrives!!!!)

Scoot do you have an IS now or you are waiting for the manual to come out? if you have an auto already jsut get a torque converter for your auto tranny and it will throw down about .5 sec quicker on the 1/4 mile times....
so I have been told by a few tuners..... that would make my 15.42 into a 15 flat or high 14's, I cannot imagine that the manual wold run much better then that at the track...dont get me wrong I do miss not having a manual car, but at the track it is easier to run consistently with a auto... but if racing is not your thing then go for what you want.... remember it is your MONEY... any IS is a good IS says GARY IS... LOL (if anyone is old like me then you will understand that comment)(one hint GARY GNU)

well - here's the deal with my IS now(or lack thereof)...i was all ready to go up and get one, but after talkin with my old man(manager at lexus of watertown), and seeing the fact that 02's will have a manual option, and available navigation, firmer suspension, etc...i decided to save a little more money up and wait for the 02' - i love drivin manuals and i just gotta have the nav system....i'm not really planning on racing my car....but that thought has crossed my mind...at any rate - daily driving is my main concern and i just want some performance mods to have some fun out there....(not too much) maybe take a few cars on route 2

well - thanks for all the info, and good luck with your IS - must suck to be drivin the minivan while u wait...it'll be worth it - lemme know how the SC goes

kool thanks for teh votte of good luck..... well seeing as you can get the Auto's 01 for like 30-32 now and the new ones for 02 will be full pop 35k the difference in price is enuff to get your nav. and some addons to equal it out... but if it is the manual you really want then hold out and be a happy driver...

call XS and ask... each kit is priced different... so you cannot assume since one kit is x amount that they all are the same price.....
