Upgrading Engine Hoses
The main hoses on the engine were done (mostly on top of engine) in the Magna II hose. It is alittle cheaper thatn stainless steel. It is actually tin plated. It looks just like SS.
After doing the engine hoses I learned that the real SS sleeving ,called Magna braid, is only about $12more per roll. The Magna II is OK but if it is in an area that might get rubbed or is susecpticle to abrasion, it will rub the tin of to a gold copper color. It is failly durable though.
I did the radiator and trans. oil cooler hose in SS sleeving.
most of hoses done . Radiator hose off to meassue and fab some end clamps
Side view w/ SRT hoses done
what it looks like w/ cover on ( night pic,not too good)
My main goal/objective in doing this was to just dress up the engine bay some w/o removing every hose and draing a bunch of stuff. To mostly to just do what would be noticed w/ the engine cover on..
How does it look
If a few like it I'll do a write-up. One thing I learned being on CL , If you do a project "take lots of pics"
im going to follow in your footsteps
tell me EVERYTHING
much
I really liked the kool hose end clamps so I decided to use them w/ the stanless steel radiator hose.. Boy did that turn out to be a fabrication night mare. But When i finished the combo was nice . I have'nt seen it on any car ,well any Lex
I think I spent about $ 80 on the engine braid sleeving & clamps. would have been only about $24 more to do the Magna braid ( stainless steel not tin plated) If you decide to do the hose sleeving ,Go w/ the stainless steel (Magna braid )sleeve. It is alittle stiffer to work with but doable.
$55 on the upper & lower radiator hose sleeving $80 ( $20ea) on the SS or Chrome Radiator clamps (Kool hose style) or you can just get the Spectre red/blue, chrome, red or blue ends for $9 each.
For the Hayden tranny oil cooler I just bought a 6' SS spectre hose it was only $13 it was the exact length for the way I routed the hose I lucked out. oh yeah, $8 for @ red/blue end clamps.

yeah thats what threw me off a little too was the diameter of the hose
but they have been used on hotrods
but im still looking i really like what you did with yours
now just ship over the engine and the body kit and we can call it even lol

I measured that Kool hose that I have and it's outside diameter 1 11/16"- inside dia. 15/16".
Inside not alot different from the radiator inlet but the rubber expands abit more.
I check Jeggs and Summit racing ,where I got most of my sleeving. GEE Wiz
the price has gone down alot since I bought mine
the SS sleeve is cheaper now than what I paid for the tin plated Magna. the staineles steel sleeve was $30 for the 6' roll now its $10 and the radiator sleeve was $55 now $$30 You can save about $35 off of what I did mine for using some of the tin plated Magna on mine.It was hard to find them on Summit racing and Jeggs, I had to search for the part # to bring them up.
Johnny, I'll do a write-up and throw some more pics w/ hose sleeve part #'s and lengths, Also, engine fitting size in case you just want to buy hoses instead. The reason I did not go with new hoses , (you could and it would not be that much more about $15- $30 for a 5/16"x 6' hose) The SS hoses that would replace the vacuum hose were alot larger/thicker, I did not care for that big look.

once th ecar is done ill begiving full credit to all those that helped me
no matter how great or small ...i couldnt have done it with out you guys
If you went east you'd dunk it in the Atlantic, that usually doesn't do your engine any good.

I meant, I would have mine on the 1st truck headed east and waiting w/ baited breath for his monster to show up in my driveway
GEE it isn't it nice to dream

Feel free to contact our CL vendors to see if they have interest in setting something up
I love how t turned out . I just wish I did the true stainless steel on all of it. Now that the price really dropped I may redo some of them. I started out only wanting to do the hoses that would show w/ the engine cover on but I got carried away
If anyone is interested I can post sizes and part #'s
Looks sweet w/ SRT intake.
