I did some searching and there doesn't seem to be much info on this. What's out there in terms of upgrading under-hood hoses? I see that there are some over-braiding kits on ebay, but I'd rather have honest-to-goodness good quality braided hoses. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
Jerry.
I'd like to know more about it as well... have been doing some googling recently but not a lot of info.
Info I was thinking about gathering
Sources for quality replacement hoses
Options on connectors / colors
Specs on size of replacement hoses for our models (both GS4 and GS3) diameter & length
Cool hoses (pun intended). Thanks for the tip. I'm just not sure that the corrugated hose type is a good thing for a daily driver. I would think it would contribute to crud and accumulation inside the hose, and for smaller hoses cause restriction, cause the folds would tend to catch stuff. Almost like arteriosclerosis. Have to think on this one.
These things are apparently not cheap either.
Funny avatar, BTW.

Are you thinking of replacing hose or just adding the hose sleeving?? I've done the sleeving route. It came out better thatn I thought it would.
When you do the sleeve method (sorry for my ignorance on this), I assume you still pull the sleeve over the hose by removing one end or both? Or does it slide over and you do some sort of heat shrink to seal it up.
OK, finally found what I'm looking for. Turns out that Jeg's has a lot of it, and JC Whitney has some. Googling with "stainless steel radiator hose" brings up a lot of info, I think the word 'radiator' was what I was missing.
There's a lot of good quality synthetic hose with stainless steel overbraiding. Once you get your particular hoses and lengths down, then you have to worry about the end fittings. This stuff's not particularly cheap, I would imagine that doing a whole bunch of hoses would cost hundreds, but haven't completed digging into it yet.

Guys, you might want to contact Samco. They specialise in high grade hoses. They also have quite a few colors that will appeal to some of you. I had them before. Only downside they cost nearly $190 for 8 hoses, and this is GB price. Oh and I just found the site. http://www.samcosport.com/
NICE hoses. They don't have the braided look, but they're pretty hi-tech looking. There's no GS listed on their website, so figuring out which hoses are appropriate might be a pain.
Me, I'm not too concerned with $190 for 8 hoses, I'm more concerned with $100 per hose that I see on some of the websites. That gets real expensive real quick, especially if you get a few wrong hoses along the way.

Easy solution. Email them. The did not have it listed for the KL03 engine either for mazda MX6 V6. But they did produce it in europe for a club once upon a time but never listed it. Same thing may be happening to the lexus.
Worst case scenario, set up a GB, and maybe they will develop the kit for our engine as well.
Also have you tried HoseTechniques. They used to shell out kits for all cars. Not sure about the lexus though.

Dave,
Here is a pic of the SS braided hose sleeve. This is how the Spectre hose sleeving looks/packaged ( this is what I used). It is compressed and rolled flat. You have to open/expand it to slip over the hose. You slid it in an accodian method snakinig for one end of the hose. When you get to the end you can just put tape on it to keep it from fraying if your going you use a hose clamp on it ,if not you can use a shrink tupe.
