Default Is there a special FI TC from PI

I spoke to someone today that told me that there is an available PI torque converter made specifically for FI cars. Does anyone know what the part number is? Since I am rebuilding my tranny it may make sense to have the TC upgraded to the FI version while the transmission is apart.

Morris,

Not a special one, but you can request one with a special stator pump (I think, let me dig). Mo at SRT told me which one to get when I spec'd mine.

Edit - yep ask for something called the 'turbo stator pump' when you order it

I'd recommend the 2600 stall for your application if you're still hitting the rev limiter. Made a world of difference in mine, although it isn't as fun / driveable as the 2800 stall (feels more like stock).

Do you know speficically what the turbo stator pump does?

I'm hoping that they will add it free of charge and adjust the stall speed under there one adjustment guarrantee.

I've honestly got no idea other than it's a different internal piece for FI cars they use. I only found out about it while researching the rev limiter bounce issue I was having... I called Mo at SRT and he told me about it and exactly what to ask for when I was ordering my TC.

There is a guy named Jack at PI that I've spoken to in the past that is pretty responsive. Precision Industries

If you can't get it changed out, you can probably sell your original one to defray the cost. Since my TC was outside the two year 'free stall speed swap' window I did exactly that.

The cost quoted for a stall speed update outside of warranty (plus the pump?) was $225.00 plus shipping both ways. I chose to just buy new and sell old.

It's filled with dilithium crystals and provides impulse drive.
