Default more hp for the gs300

I've been looking into getting more out of my lexus. Right now the only thing i've done is the SRT intake w/ECU. I'm happy with the results but of course you can never have enough. I know i'm not gonna get much out of it but I was planning on upgrading the exhaust. Now besides sound, is there much of a difference with the exhaust systems out there. I was thinking l-tuned or borla, but if i can get more performance i don't mind getting some exhaust w/ more sound. And between l-tuned and borla what should i get? I am planning on getting a grounding kit and a voltage kit soon. But besides this stuff I don't know what to do. I was looking at pulleys but I heard bad things about changing the crank pulley cause it is the harmonic damper. I am aware that I can get a new TC but is there anything else i can get to increase performance w/out paying so much? Also plz don't recommend any suspension/appearance mods i'm just talking power right now. Thanks. Oh yeah I have a 2001.

Welcome to CL Matt!

The questions you've asked have been covered many times before so I suggest using the CL advanced search feature for keywords such as 'borla gs300', 'borla l-tuned', 'borla ltuned', 'exhaust gs300' and you'll find loads of info and even sound clips.

On performance, you'll get neglible gain from either one of these... our members have only seen .5 - 2 hp gains from cat back exhaust bolt ons at the dyno... so choose based on looks and sound alone.

Other performance mods... TC is about the only thing you can do short of adding forced induction or nitrous that will really help. The gearing on the GS300 is already very steep (3.91) so the Supra TT LSD would actually slow you down off the line as it has 3.76 gears.

Edit Some sample threads I found from a couple secs of searches

Thanks for the advice.

But with further searching i couldn't find the answers to a few more questions i have.

Ok, so i'm looking at torque converters and I like the sound of em, but the only thing is the price!! I found that I could get rebuilt ones instead of the ones that are from srt for about only $300. This sounded a lot more appealing. The only thing is, what can i expect in terms of diffrence between a rebuilt one and one i get from srt? Also, if i got a new TC will i need to or should i get a new tranny cooler?

And then i still can't find much information at all about the pulleys...should i just stay away from these or what?

Thanks
