What not to do with your new LSD
Got an LSD yesterday at 5 pm, this is the car today at 10am, any questions.
Heres the problem, my car always slid predictably and controllably around corners, it was never a problem, the whole car just slid around them. Well after the LSD the car no longer slides, I guess the term is oversteers. The tail end now comes around with out much provocation, I definitley have a sound understanding of this concept now. Too bad TRD didnt include a parental warning sticker with the LSD
. I guess some things you have to learn the hard way. Everybody is okay the car isnt too bad it could of been worse if I had hit the pole head on my Intercooler tranny cooler blower and all kinds of other stuff would have had it. Plus maybe I can get the insurance to help with new rims 19" I know for certain that at least one rim was slightly bent hitting the curb.

sorry to hear that man.
but yes, i personally definitely want to use this thread as a lesson to everyone else.... our cars are powerful, and there is a reason for the vsc to be there -- to save the car. yes, taking the vsc off could be fun, but you definitely need to know what you are doing, otherwise you will lose control like that.
this is NOT intended for morris, it's just as a general warning.
couple of members here would smile (non-disclosed reasons), but it's something to keep in mind

Yea everyone it could of been alot worse, I could of hit the pole hard, I could of hit it head on, my daughter could of been injured, I could of hit the stupid dog that ran out in the road, all kinds of bad stuff could of happened.
And yes I meant it to be a learning tool, I dont want anyone else to have to go through my experience or worse. I posted this becuase I have seen a lot of folks talking aobut LSD's and such. But no one has really focused on how it makes the car handle so much diffrerently, and trust me it does. I used to know exaclty what to expect from my car, heck I was up at the Dragon last month calmly skating around curves with tires squealing over and over again. Not once did the rearend violently break loose. But that LSD makes the rearend want to come around on curves, no doubt about it. I was totally surpised by the car, never once did I think the car would act the way it did, I think we need to give our freinds at least an idea of what to expect.
Sam told me yesterday that the car would get sideways, I guess I should of put two and two together but I didnt. I knew it would go sideways in a straightaway, but not once did I think about it happening in a curve. Something like this needs to be drilled home to new LSD drivers, we need to understand that the car will handle very differently. I would of been better off if I could of figured it out. I just wouldnt feel right if I didnt try to explain this to everyone else, to try and help them learn from my mistake.
What I would like to see is someone start a thread on how to corner with an LSD equipped car. Any of you seasoned guys feel free to start one up, I will read with interest.

Bottom line is they should keep those telephone poles from jumping in front of cars.

I remember bieng little and my Dad would drive this little mazda aggressive because I loved it. He also knew the limits of the car and could make it do anything he wanted safely. The point Morris made should be well taken about the composure of the car being completely different and i doubt he ever thought he would endanger anyone by doing what he had probably done 100 times over in that car in the past.
I also have my daughter in the car 90% of the time I am in it and i wouldn't do anything too questionable. I think the worst I was ever hurt in a car as a kid was because of drunk drivers hitting or pulling out in front of us.
