Default Check Engine light caused by Precision TC

Ok I know its no Precision's TC fault for causing the check engine light to go off on 99% of all 430's. To top it off my VSC is off to because of it. The reason why the engine light comes on is because of an extra sensor on the 430's that tricks it to think somethings wrong when in fact its working fine. But I am wondering if anyone with a 430 ever figured out fixing this problem. Ive been driving with the engine light on for a little more then a year now. Someone help. this light is getting freakin annoying.

There surely must be a way of fooling the sensor into chillin' out?

Your 03 430 should still be in warranty. Take it to a Lexus shop.

it has nothing to do with dealership. most people with tc on gs430 they got the problem with check engine light, so that has to do with some sensor difference between gs400 and gs430. i don't know of anyone knowing how to fix it yet though

Guess I am going to jinx myself now, but I have the TC, had it for over 15K miles now on my car and no CEL has ever come on. I honestly believe it's the installer that is causing these issues with the CEL to come on. I had SRT install my TC on my 430 and it's been fine from day one. Wish I had a solution to the problem you are experiencing.

Black masking tape will solve your problem.

It does not appear to be real problem, so the masking tape is probably all you need to move on with your life!

What code are we getting? If anyone in the dallas area have a PI converter, come by our shop and we will take a look at it.

I had a member come by a couple of years ago and I pulled the codes. Cannot recall exactly which code it was m but it was for one of the actuators. I cleared the code and all was fine for half a day and then it came back. Lexus even replaced it under warranty for him. Still, the code came back.

Solenoids actually, I forget which gear it was but it was always the same one. Received you PM, will respond back in a bit. Hate to rush a response and I have to run now.

If memory serves me right, it's error code #0162 which is the tranny solenoid malfunction. The dealer had replaced all my tranny solenoids (around 4) but could not fix the CEL problem.

I called PI they said they know about the 430. And that there is nothing they can do. They only make the TC not the car so the TC works fine so its not there end.

hahhaha that's true though, i mean, the sensors are put in by lexus, not PI, so there is really nothing much they can do

maybe it's a good thing i have a 400
