As far as intakes go the most bang for the buck is the SRT Intake. It suppose the have the most gains because it uses a piggyback ECU. This is the intake that most IS owners use. Its a bit pricey new, but there is always someone selling a used one.

Check the link: Swift Racing

Well in that case, there is AEM, INJEN, ProLex Performance, and K&N to name a few. These do not come with ECU's and are cheaper.

Where should I begin looking? Which one of those is my best option? Also, are they direct bolt ons?

I want something that just sounds like a normal intake. Not to loud, not to soft...but I still want that cool sucking sound like my girlfriend makes

Nah go big or go home! Seriously dude if you want hp, either look into the SRT or Injen intake with an AFC. You're gonna have to spend money to get quality and performance. I've seen the SRT for $550 from intense: SRT .

But if you add up the other option which you would go with if you wanted to maximize gains from a header or racepipe, it would be AFC shipped: $290 , Injen intake: $250-$300 , and tuning: $125==$675. This will give you more hp, but at a price. I got 12 rwhp after the tune, but would would've liked to have had the instant hp (but less gains) from the SRT. Also i believe the SRT intake is better than the Injen. But the AFC monitor in your car looks sweet. Either way, good luck on your decision.

SRT for big dogs, for those who want to play hard. If you want to spend less go with Injen and you should be fine. Sometimes it pays to wait and save but sometimes you just need to get it done, so just do what you want.

P.S. Nice paint job sweet ride.

Yes, i would do it, but some claim that AEM has more R&D, however it's not worth a blaring CEL, as A***s have been known to throw them.

Alright, then I guess it's Injen. Now, I have heard people complain about how small the Injen filter is. Does that matter at all? Could you just replace it with the TRD filter or something?

Hey, hold up, only get the Injen if you plan to spend the dough on the AFC + tuning. Don't go cheap cause you'll regret it in the long run. I'd get the SRT if you don't want the Injen + AFC. Intense motorsports has the SRT for $550. Hope that helps.
