Default LSD & TC install

Are both of these mods direct boltons? or will they need special modification to make them work? Cant any regular mechanic. perform the task..?

It is basically direct bolt on. But i can't repeat this enough, please use the search function and also if you look at bananags's website, he has DIY for the LSD. Cars are pretty straightforward things to mess around with unless you get into engine stuff. Also, maybe getting a repair manual might be a good choice.

Hmmm.. it depends on which LSD you're talking about.

The RMM / Supra TT LSD (full pumpkin replacement) is MUCH more of a bolt on than the TRD LSD, which is a tricky operation.

dave is correct, it depends on what lsd you getting. if you get the supra/rmm lsd, it's the whole thing and it's bolt on, not that hard. but if it's the trd lsd, you need a VERY good mechanic to do it otherwise you will damage something one way or the other. repeat, you need a VERY good mechanic

the tc is also bolt on, but it involves taking the tranny apart, not THAT easy

If your not sure, spend the extra money for the peace of mind that it's being installed by the best...you don't want to end up spending way more money then you imagined because someone screwed up your tranny...at least with the good shops, they will warranty their work and back it up...

god now this one i think you should really do a search.... it's been talked a lot of times before already. for one, PI is the company and dragon is more like the model, they are the same thing.

You don't mean you literally "take the tranny apart" do you? Doesn't the TC bolt in between the flex plate and trans? Not an easy job, I've done it before on my truck. Maybe different on the GS?

Talking That's good news!

I kinda figured that's what you meant but just wanted to clarify...
I'm going to have Todd @ TM Engineering do the TC swap for me (hopefully next month) and his ground upgrade kit at the same time.

well so who's he at right now? the other side of todd's place i thought it's a limo rental place

anyway, todd is the god in that. i have lost track of how many tc and lsd he installed. i talked to him about the trd lsd already, he said to be safe, overnight would do all the trick

LOL! You're right, I keep going back and forth on this. Too many people swear by this mod though and with a group buy...

I guess it's not technically a GB, but Todd is offering the kit on the Vendor's forum for what seems like a good deal...I've heard he does a good job on them.
