Where did you guys get your magnaflows
I am ready to buy a set of Magnaflows(14829) fror my 95 sc300. Where will I get the best deal?
The cheapest I found was $119 each on some web site through Yahoo! shopping. Also, 14829 is that the mufflers everyone get or should I look at some other ones?

yes thats the number, the only thing about the 14829 is that the inlet and outlet are centered while the original has an offset intake/outlet.. not really a biggie but if you really want a muffler that matches, just go through their stainless steel ones, they look nice and shiny and you can get the same tips and maybe the whole deal comes out cheaper..
hey hoops, or anyone else that has these. Do you feel a difference in performance? Im sure you dont feel a big difference, but just wondering if you feel an increase, or decrease in performance. thanks in advance.
there really isnt much difference in performance since the stock mufflers are straight-thru anyway - all you'll really notice is a difference in tone. itll still be really quiet unless you change out the piping or the resonators.

Anyway I have Magnaflows on my SC300 they sound good. With a cold engine they sound kind of rumbly and growly and mellow out at higher rpms. I do have a turbo so the sound is a little muffled at times and louder at others.
I definitely felt an increase in performance, but I got custom pipes installed at the time I got my mufflers. My 35-65 mph powerband is much improved. Low end doesn't feel much different.
Hope that helps....

I ordered mine for $104 each from a-1 performance parts on the web, but I don't think they carry them anymore.
I changed the mufflers only. There was no performance gain. The sound change is very slight, a little deeper rumble that only you will notice because you always drive it. Your buddies/ girlfriend will not really be able to tell.
So get these Magnaflows for looks only ---they look great. Be sure to get the matching stainless steel mounts for them. I didn't and the shop I went to put ugly welds on them. I regret that error bigtime. Otherwise they look awesome.
