Default At Risk of being a NOOB- Ignition switch wont go to off

Ok, so I searched about 15 variations of that in the search function under this forum, no results...

When I start my car and turn it off, the key goes to accessory and not to lock. I have to bring the shifter through the gears and back to park to get it to go to off and be able to remove my key. I know this is a lexus thing which is the only reason I knew enough to mess with the shifter, but has anyone come up with a solution?

Thanks!!

Lexus is not the only company with automatic transmissions. If the shifter isn't completely in park it won't turn off.... on any car. Adjust your transmission shifter. Shouldn't be too big an issue.

I can literally feel the sarcasm, but i appreciate the response. I've already adjusted the shifter and it goes into park perfectly in every sense. And I do have mechanical experience, and have owned 3 Lexi that had this issue that was fixed by the shifter adjustment. I apologize for making a general statement that targeted the beloved lexus about them having a "common issue". Learning and already appreciating This site, I will not offend another moderator, and do apologize.

This one's different though feels almost electrical maybe? Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Its still the shifter. Stop adjusting the trans link and adjust the ign link.
