Default 96 SC300 Transmission Filter

I'm changing the pan gasket and filter. My question is why do autozone, AAP, and Oreillys have different looking filters than the one that goes on my car? Have the transmissions changed at all from the 1st gen SC's? One video I watched, this dude bought a filter from AZ (the filter I need, which isn't at AZ anymore) and that was the WRONG filter for him. His SC3 was a 1999 A/T. My trans is obviously automatic as well. Here are the links I found from Oreillys and AZ.
1 - Oreillys, the right filter. https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/w...q=trans+filter
2 - AZ, the wrong filter (Oreillys has one that looks like this as well), http://www.autozone.com/filters-and-...42803_227865_0
Any insight would be helpful. I've already ordered the /hopefully/ right one so now i'm just curious why things are so weird.
