Hey, JonGS3. Glad it worked out. the bent-nose pliers I bought (and source) were similar to what you describe. The engineers certainly didn't make this easy, though. Was looking recently at what it takes to change plugs and wires. I guess I'd do that too while the throttle body was off. Having a problem with it stumbling at idle when warm, but no CELs popping up. All other performance as good as ever. Can't believe you have to dig that deeply into an engine just to change plugs.

Yeah I did plugs, wires, and VC gaskets a few months ago. I think it took me about 6 hours. It was a real pain in the ***. I think the worst was just dealing with the wire harness over the top of the front of the VS. Mine is super stuff and brittle and there's hardly any slack in it to get the valve cover off. If I knew that coolant hose was such a pain to change, I would have done it then as having the VCs off gives you a little more room to work with.
