emissions fail!!
Seriously!!! Who what or where did anyone think that the sc300 is front wheel drive???
This makes me hate emissions even more.
They actually tried to put my front wheels on the dyno... almost launched my car into the fan in front of it before I realized what was going on.
Be sure to tell them what is up before they try and put your front wheels on the dyno

Ever since the mechanic enters LEXS instead of LEXUS .. there may be a software issue [easy for a hardware guy to say] where the program defaults to unknown vehicle.
Incidentally we have a raging debate in our family about taking the vehicle to dealership for safety/emission testing. I hate the wait at dealership and prefer a station around my office, while my wife feels comfortable waiting at the dealership. This threads adds a new dimension.

Yeah what bothers me more is that no one even thought about fixing it or telling someone about the problem, they just put the rear wheels on the dyno... its like I have the only sc300 and they just do not care.
Lol @ the capitalization, yeah really helps avoid any mistakes =)
I actually did pass the second time.. the first time I failed miserably but apparently my tps was not adjusted right the last time I messed with the idle so it would spit out mad emissions when they let off the gas. readjusted and threw a new cat on (old one looked fine though) for extra insurance and used my special sauce fuel and good to go.
Mike watch out when you take yours in it will probably say the same thing.
Yeah I am glad they didn't actually hit anything... I guess it happens alot and they caught it.
My clutch is like an on off switch so it really didn't help the situation, 40% of the time they do a burnout, 40% they stall it out, and the other 20% they actually get it into gear somewhat.
It seems like an easy thing to correct. I will always be paying attention to it in the future.
I am pretty sure it always says front wheels in Denver stations for our cars.
You may be onto something Salim, but it said that both times I went. the second time I told the guy and he actually looked under the car to confirm what I said was true... at least I have to give that guy credit for knowing what rear wheel drive looks like underneath. Sometimes its better to wait if its a better place to go, but if you are in a rush I would go to the closest place.

I have 2 magnaflow cats on the midpipe, the rear one welded in and I change the front one out as needed.
No grief under the hood thankfully, but I do have everything in place... pcv, egr, charcoal canister, 2 o2 sensors (1 is my wideband cause JDM ecu only has 1 o2), and 2 cats. They did not seem to care that it was hooked up to a FFIM. After looking at the printout the list does not even have egr on it for our cars but I put it on anyways, next time I may just try without it the sheet just says catalytic converter presence, o2 sensor presence and some gas cap stuff but who knows every station/inspector might feel different about it.
