Default car dies when going into neutral from gear

it seems like it does it in 3rd through 6th mostly.

I think basically when I shift between gears if I dont get into another gear before the tach drops it dies.

what could be the cause of this, it never wanted to die as an automatic, SC400.

Could be a number of things. Idle Control Valve not keeping up would be one. I would try cleaning it to see if it helps it out or not.

but it never died as an automatic, maybe something to do with the drastic change in RPMs that the automatic never had?

When I used to have a mk3 supra it did the same thing for me after i swapped to a manual. It stopped when I put a manual ecu in it.

Maybe there is some adjustment at the throttle body that can be made to help with that

try adjusting the TPS....if you move the TPS around and it doesnt change your idle....then you may want a new one

usually if the maf is malfunctioning and you unplug it and it runs better, the maf is the culprit

have you tried cleaning the idle air control valve? Could be a vacuum leak, make sure and check all the hoses.

I've got your old car.
I took off the egr and cleaned behind it,aswell as raising the idle and the shifting issues gone.
